A: I think it is a standard enough clause. I can’t sell in seven years to anyone outside of the local area. The bank didn’t have a problem with it.

You can get a joint mortgage but only your name will be on the deeds of the house. The bank will require a letter from a solicitor stating that the other person (named on mortgage but not on property) is fully aware of this.
